A new Italian online curling portal – Curling Italia – has been launched, providing a new window into Italian curling.

Italy will host another world championnship this season: the 2009 World Mixed Doubles in Cortina D'Ampezzo. That same city will then host the 2010 World Men's, just weeks after the Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

In recent years Italy has hosted the 2006 Olympic Winter Games (Pinerolo), two Winter Universiades (Claut 2002 and Pinerolo 2007), the 2003 Le Gruyère European Championships (Courmayeur), the 2006 European Mixed Championship (Claut) and the 2005 World Junior Championships (Pinerolo).

The launch of the striking new portal was officially announced on the Curling Torino website and blog:

Aggiornate quindi subito la lista dei vostri segnalibri se non volete perdervi neppure una news su tornei (da giocarsi in Italia o all’estero) campionati vari (nazionali, europei, mondiali) personaggi istituzioni regolamenti e, soprattutto, le nostre dirette per coprire i più importanti eventi dedicati al curling.
